PRSSA in 2008

Dear fellow statehooders:

I cordially extend season’s greetings to all of you and wish you a happy and prosperous New Year 2008! The dawn of the New Year presents numerous challenges for PRSSA and the Puerto Rican statehood movement as we strive to make Puerto Rico the 51st star of the American constellation of states.

PRSSA faces a decisive election year in which we will work to elect a pro-statehood government for Puerto Rico in November 2008.  In that regard, we wage an absentee voting campaign to secure that victory at the polls.   Our campaign helps students get registered as voters by the Puerto Rico Elections Committee and aids those students in requesting and sending their absentee ballots.  Each vote we acquire in the name of statehood leads us one step closer to our most cherished objective: Statehood for Puerto Rico.

PRSSA is also waging a multi-pronged web campaign to promote statehood and absentee voting, and to establish a nationwide network of pro-statehood students.    PRSSA’s official group in Facebook is the largest of its kind and it is an excellent destination for all statehooders to meet and greet.  PRSSA’s Facebook group may be found at PRSSA can also be found in MySpace ( and YouTube (
